Choosing a home in Okotoks, AB during May 2026

A clear way to think about your next move without second-guessing yourself.

If you are trying to decide whether to move forward, the first question is simple do you have enough information to make a calm choice? I would start with the basics and then move only when the numbers support your timing.

Last month, the only usable item in the file was a notice about Alberta REALTORS' access to provincewide listing data through a streamlined technology platform. That matters because it points to broader listing access, but it does not give me local pricing, pace, or supply for Okotoks, AB.

For a buyer, that means I would not rush to interpret this as a market signal. For a seller, it means I would want real local numbers in hand before I make any pricing or timing decision in Okotoks, AB.

Keep the conversation focused on the facts I can verify. Ask for the local numbers that matter, compare them carefully, and make the next move only after the picture is complete.

Talk through your Okotoks move with clarity

When the numbers are thin, the safest move is to slow down and get a clean read before you act. I help clients separate what is confirmed from what is guesswork so they can make a steadier decision. If you want a clear next step, reach me at 403 835-7775. You can text or call me. - Patrick Krause

Community Clean Up Day

Okotoks' 25th annual Community Clean Up and Tree Planting takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Residents, families, businesses, schools and local groups are invited to help tidy the river valley and plant seedlings. The Town is aiming to plant 1,500 seedlings this year. Volunteers can meet at the Lions Park picnic shelter, and gloves and garbage bags will be available for cleanup helpers. Those joining the planting effort are asked to bring shovels, gloves and sturdy footwear. A free volunteer BBQ is planned afterward, and the weather backup date is May 23.
